THE SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER

 

All teachers are working on instilling character in our students based on the Character Counts curriculum. This particular program emphasizes six categories which include Trustworthiness, Respect, Fairness, Caring, Responsibility, and Citizenship. Many of these qualities are addressed through our enrichment classes as well. Below you will find a general description of the categories and broad areas we will be working on during the school year. Please join us in stressing the importance of these traits by your own good example, and through verbal reminders for your children.

 

TRUSTWORTHINESS

¨ Be honest.                                                                                           

¨ Don’t deceive, cheat, or steal.

¨ Be reliable— do what you say you will do.

¨ Have the courage to do the right thing.
